Cote d’Ivoire reopens land borders closed since start of pandemic

Cote d’Ivoire has lifted its Covid-imposed land border closure, officially re-opening its roads to neighboring countries after nearly three years.

The country shut down all borders on 22 March 2020 at the start of the Covid pandemic.

Sea and air borders were reopened after a few months, as the country depends on exports of cocoa and coffee, but land borders with Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia and Mali remained closed. Read more
