Nigeria’s President orders probe into mistaken military drone strike on civilians.

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has ordered a probe into the bombing of a village by the country’s army, in the northern state of Kaduna.

The president gave the directive in a statement by his spokesman,  Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday in Abuja.

The Nigerian Army took responsibility for Sunday’s Air Strike on a religious procession that left many villagers killed and several others injured at Tudun Biri village in Kaduna State.

The president in his reaction to the incident, directed a thorough and full-fledged investigation into the incident and called for calm while the authorities look into the mishap.

Tinubu also directed a swift and comprehensive medical attention for surviving victims and Sympathised with the families of victims, the people and government of Kaduna State over the mishap.

”President Tinubu describes the incident as very unfortunate, disturbing, and painful, expressing indignation and grief over the tragic loss of Nigerian lives.

The military’s efforts against insurgents and bandits in the north of the country have resulted in heavy casualties on all sides. The campaign against insecurity in the country continues as many people in rural communities have become victims in a conflict that many describe as placing a heavy burden on Nigeria’s security forces.

Many expect that this incident will lead to an in-depth probe to draw out effective strategies that would improve methods employed by the security forces to tackle the country’s security challenges.
